From the Publisher
This text is widely adopted as a main text for introductory law and sociology of law courses throughout the United States and Canada. Provides a welcome relief from those few other sociology of law texts that fail to examine the theoretical bases of sociology of law, and adopt a quantitative approach. Appropriate for upper division undergraduate classes and graduate classes.

He has written over 15 books and numerous articles on critical criminology and law from a postmodern perspective, and he serves as Editor of the International Journal for the Semiotics of Law.
