Through a process of geons held in the late critical review and implementation, rigid internaI fixation has become an established treatment modality at numerous centers, especially in Switzer­ land, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Netherlands. By comparison, the method has received very little attention in North America and the Anglo-Saxon countries. By and large, surgeons in these countries continue to treat mandibular fractures by intermaxillary fixation, possibly supplemented by the use of interosseous wires. Many recent edi­ tions of surgical texts confirm this. Lately, however, there appears to be a surge of interest in methods of functionally stable internaI fixation, especially in the United States of America, and AO/ ASIF instruction courses are increasingly in demand. This book is intended to aid course participants in their lessons and practi­ cal exercises and also to guide the clinical practitioner in the application of AO/ ASIF principles. An Excellent Source of Information for New & Seasoned Teachers

Why TESOL?... is an excellent textbook with a tremendous amount of information for the new as well as the seasoned ESL teacher. It is strategically divided into chapters that are easy to follow. The activities enhance the quality of the book as students can practice what they read. As an instructor who has taught this book numerous times to satisfied students, I recommend that other instructors take the time to learn the material well as well as add to the class with his or her own experiences. If it is taught well, students will certainly learn.

I had to get this book for a class of mine. I would pretty much rather step on glass or put a flame to the inside of my nostrils before I would recommend this book. Not only was it really boring, but it didn't even offer any useful suggestions for teaching ELL students in your classroom.

As does a large, rampaging robot with its ability for human consciousness locked on revenge. Thrown into the mix are 17-year-old Lee Brackett and his mother, Clara. Who have come to New York for the world's first Science Fiction Convention. Mystery and action drive the narrative, while multiple character perspectives impart backstory fragments that keep the reader wanting more. Comic books play a pivotal role in the text, making the inked illustrations and minicomic at the book's end a nice touch. Don't buy the Kindle version

Don't buy the Kindle version of this book. Stick to the hardcover print edition. The Kindle edition is missing the comic book at the end that is a critical part of the story - and is found at the end of the print edition. Disappointing it's not in the Kindle edition.

The year is 1939, and the New York World's Fair is just about to open. A secret society called Plus Ultra is about to reveal their biggest secrets to the world, but there's a cyborg out to get vengeance, and Nazis at every turn trying to get their hands on him - and a recruited mother and son are caught in the crossfire.

This is a bonafide prequel to the movie that comes out in May 2015. Something to flesh out the world of 'Tomorrowland', which has already been explored in Alternate Reality Games, the 1952 mystery box, and other media.

There's a seriously fun story that has a ton of nods to history and science fiction. References to the First World Science Convention (WorldCon), early Disney history, and twists on well-known Tesla and Earhart history. The story twists and turns with actual history on that fateful weekend, and the attention to detail is superb.

The artwork, by Jonathan Case, is fun and perfect. There's a full-color comic inside the book with the print copy (not the Kindle copy), that is the same comic one of the main characters gets in the story, and it has a puzzle in the back you can solve too. The book cover itself, in a reflective gold is gorgeous, and will capture any eyes on your bookshelf.

This is a sci-fi adventure that is fun, action packed, an easy read, and recommended for teens through adults.

Fast-paced Prequel to Upcoming Tomorrowland Movie

BEFORE TOMORROWLAND is a prequel to the upcoming Disney film, Tomorrowland.

Written by Jeff Jensen, Jonathan Case, Brad Bird, and Damon Lindelof, this fast-paced science fiction novel introduces readers to a secret society led by scientific geniuses. Set in 1939, the group is about to reveal an amazing new world. However an evil scientist and a confused robot-human hybrid have other plans. Caught in the middle are a mother and son in New York for a science fiction convention.

Although younger readers may be confused by the wide spectrum of characters and historical references, science fiction fans will easily become immersed in the fantasy. The retro-superhero comic illustrations add to the appeal. The book also includes the 20 page comic featured in the story adding an additional dimension to the experience.

With the popularity of Disney films, this book is likely to be popular. Consider a summer library program based on the Tomorrowland theme. There are lots of social media resources ready to use. okay but has loose ends

The Court of King Clovis DuFresne, The Year of Light 2525. Gabriella Bergeron is about to enter a new phase in her life. she would have to fulfill the task she was chosen to do and Michel Auclair, Personal Trainer, would help her carry it out.
this novella is set in the distant future but it seems that nothing much has changed with how the world looked in this little corner of the universe. people continue to live in abject filth and poverty beyond the walls of the King's chateau. corruption, tyranny and abuse are still part and parcel of power hungry individuals like King Clovis.
amidst all the despair and evil, a handful of men led by the Sun King, Michel and his closest friend Beaufort LeBlance are resolute in ending the present monarchy's reign and reforming the status quo. unknown to them, Brie has her own agenda too.
aside from graphic sexual situations, there are references to perverted acts so this book is definitely for mature readers. though this was a fast short read, i felt that certain elements were not thoroughly developed. for instance, the Sun King who made a brief and sudden appearance also disappeared as fast as the events that unfolded towards the end of the story. i think his character, origins, plans, etc. should have been more explored.
i also have no idea if there is a sequel to this book. whether Brie and Michel's story will continue or not is something i do not really look forward to right now but it would have been great if author Jill Noelle brought closure to some of the characters as she did for Brie and Michel.

Getting Unstuck

"What do I say about my faith in an age of political correctness and hostility?" That question gets a thorough and helpful answer in this book. I believe that most Christians would like to see more of the people that they know "get" the message of good news that is Christ's message and purpose for coming to this world. They just are confused or dismayed by the responses that they have gotten. This little book helps me to be proactive and loving and patient, with the goal clearly in mind. Thanks Mark Mittleberg and Bill Hybels. It is no wonder Willow Creek Church is growing. You have helped your church members become contagious Christians! This wisdom helped me and it will help you too.

It's Good but....

This series has become very well known across Christian circles in the united states (and potentially other countries as well) and it is difficult to not see why. It offers a non-confrontational way to proclaim the gospel with those we know. Yet when I read the gospels and epistles I don't see this strategy ANYWHERE. Now I'm not going to go as far as to say that this method isn't biblical, but there is a major emphasis missing. We as servants of Christ are to be Bold in proclaiming the King and Creator of everything (even time), to the point where we realize our chains are to the procession of Christ and nothing else matters. When the full grandeur of God is in your sight there is nothing else that matter but His glory. Your friends and there possible rejection of you/your beliefs is secondary.

Next is the attempt to provide a formula for telling others about Christ. The bible shows us over and over again that there are no formulas. When the prophets where called they were each different (personality), every time Jesus healed someone it was done differently (method), and the only consistency is the Word and that it was for the Glory of God.

Nowhere in this book do those truths come forward. If the Apostle Paul needed others to pray for his boldness, how much more we need it! This book does provide a good starting point for people, but it must be followed by the truth that God doesn't like formulas. Every person, life, and moment is uniquely written by Him.

God's children need tools (like how to first prepare their testimony and an easy starting point with the gospel) to build confidence, which this series does well. If you do go over this with your small group make sure to place emphasis on the uniqueness of God's plan for everyone, and how to be open and lead by the Spirit. Look into the book of Acts and see how God responded when the Kingdom of God was boldly proclaimed. I would love to see this series completed in a way that encourages people to put God drastically first in their lives.

Every woman has honor but it can be ruthlessly taken away!

This book opened my eyes into many cultural aspects of the Afghan and especially the Pashtun Afghan code of honor. Honor above life itself, a concept that eludes most readers from the West. The extremely high place of honor that guests have in Afghan culture puts Western hospitality in the shade. People are more important than time and schedules. This book brings out the sad place of women subjected at times to fulfill roles in the code of honor among a man-centered culture, but also that not all men in that culture are heartless and domineering. One can view the world through the eyes of the characters intertwining culture, honor, personal feelings, revenge and love. A great read for further understanding of the East.

Awesome and true story!
Glad this vicious and violent practice known as Honor Killing is being exposed to millions from a writer who is from same nationality!

I was blown out of the water! This book is something every American should read....just (if for no other reason) to get us to appreciate being a woman in the United States....how do Afghan women endure? There is no honor in killing your children BECAUSE they have a child out of wedlock. There is no honor in murdering innocent people anywhere at any time. The book was profound, well-written, and educational. Great job, and thank you Dr. Ayoubi!
